About Us

What is the BRDP?

The BRDP is the network for local voluntary, community and faith groups in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe . It is unique in that it is the only network in the area which crosses community council, ward and area boundaries in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe. The BRDP works within the context of local, borough wide and national strategies and programmes. Locally, its members offer support and services within the community, and engage with the community structures that exist, including Community Councils. Borough wide, the BRDP seeks to provide a local perspective for the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS).

Attending BRDP meetings provides an opportunity to meet people from a range of different organisations and backgrounds. This contact will give you the chance to:

  • explore opportunities for partnership working;
  • join forces on a specific project;
  • hold a joint event with a different group as a way of reaching a wider audience;
  • add your voice to local issues, and feed into wider networks and fora at a local and borough-wide level.

Through provision of a worker, the BRDP offers its members the following services:

  • Capacity building in the form of ongoing training relevant to members;
  • Advice on fundraising, monitoring and evaluation, etc;
  • Signposting to other services and support available locally and borough-wide, including information on funding, facilities and training;
  • Support to explore partnership working amongst its members, as well as external agencies;
  • Premises and resources appropriate to their needs;
  • A website containing a variety of information of use and interest to local community groups and individuals, including details of its membership;
  • Opportunities to network with other voluntary, community and faith groups;
  • Opportunities to meet with representatives of other agencies, including the statutory sector.
